Dramatic Draping at Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2009

The Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2009 exhibition at the Milan Fashion Week was marked by dramatic elegance. Models swathed in expertly cinched and pleated fabrics swept the stage, some of their bodies completely concealed beneath yards of luxurious fabrics in the season's hottest colors--fuschia, as above, and lime green.
Most of the designs in the collection are asymmetrical and elegantly draped, emphasizing the wearer's shape by the way the fabric falls.

Amanda Beard Bares All for Animal Rights

Amanda Beard Bares All for Animal Rights

Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard is no stranger to taking her clothes off for the camera. She's appeared in Playboy, FHM and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

The swimmer is nude again, but this time for a good cause. Beard appears in a nude advertisement in support of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Beard, who is in Beijing to compete in the 200-meter breaststroke, she claimed gold in the event at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, unveiled the ad today outside the Athlete's Village.

In what some are calling the first athlete "protest" of the Beijing Olympics, Beard displayed a poster of the ad and talked about how she is anti-animal cruelty.

"The Olympics are a great forum for me to use to get my message out," Beard told the Associated Press. "It's a great thing for me to do. I'm saying not to kill innocent animals, there's nothing negative that goes into that."

Although it was a peaceful protest, which involved Beard spreading PETA's message to the world, it must be noted that China is the world's top exporter of fur. The organization claims the country's farms practice cruelty towards animals that are often killed brutally, allegedly by electrocution, poison and some are skinned alive.

Beard's ad, which features her nude in front of the American flag, with her left hand draped over her breasts and right hand on her hip, is meant to signify Beard's and PETA's belief that wearing nothing at all is better than wearing fur.

She also said she was hopeful that things will change in the country and that the ad might strike a chord in others around the world. It's possible that it might. The people at PETA are genius, nothing catches your attention like a naked celebrity.

The swimmer is not the only famous face to strip down for PETA actresses Alicia Silverstone and Eva Mendes , designers Sadie Frost and Kimora Lee Simmons, Girl Next Door Holly Madison and others have posed nude for the anti-fur ads.

Glamour Model Emily Scott Gets Wild And Crazy At The Zoo

Meet Aussie Glamour model Emily Scott

Emily Scott is an Australian glamour model that you've probably never heard of. But that's okay. It's good to be exposed to new things. Helps you grow as a person. Especially when it's a gorgeous woman like Emily Scott. Looks like those British glamour models Lucy Pinder, Keeley Hazell and Jennifer Ellison might get a run for their money.

So here's the deal on Emily Scott:
Emily Scott (born 1983 in Canberra, Australia) is an Australian commercial, lingerie and glamour model. She appeared in the visuals of Robbie Williams' spring 2006 tour, and she also appeared in a specially filmed remake of the notorious "Rock DJ" video clip and her brief relationship with Little Britain's David Walliams.

For a period she was the face of Lipton Ice Tea. Hmm... That's making me thirsty already. In 2006, she participated in the ITV reality series Love Island. Scott has made numerous appearances in men's magazines such as Ralph, Nuts, Zoo Weekly, FHM, Loaded, Stuff, Playboy and Maxim in the UK, Australia and America. In February 2007, Scott was announced as "Sexiest Aussie Babe" by FHM Australia after a readers` poll. In the autumn of 2007 she was a participant in the second series of Cirque de Celebrité on Sky One in the UK. She was voted off in week 4 of the competition.

She appeared on the TLC show London Ink, where she got a Koi fish tattoo on her right arm. Check out these hot pictures and videos of Emily Scott in Zoo magazine.

VICTORIA BECKHAM IN LA

VICTORIA BECKHAM IN LA

“There’s a very dry ironic sense of British humor running through it, which I hope everybody understands. I don’t really sunbathe in high heels, a full face of makeup and a bikini. It just goes to show I don’t take myself too seriously.” Victoria Beckham on Coming To America.

Obviously, the humor was lost on everyone except myself and one other friend who called to make sure I was watching. “This is the funniest shit I’ve ever seen” said my astute friend. I couldn’t have agreed more. I easily found myself in love with this woman, her sense of humor and the way she subtley bashed on American culture. The well directed Mrs. Beckham driving, drinking champagne and house hunting with her make-up artist and hairdresser pals, was priceless, not as many critics have said “irritating and confounding.” The NY Post needs to recheck themselves. Ms. Stasi wrote: “You will sit there slack-jawed at the gall of these people who think we are that stupid.” She also attacked Posh’s affected modesty in one scene where she wonders if the paparazzi are waiting for Madonna, describing it as “about as real as her hair color. Dear God.” Dear God is right, Posh is hysterical. If you need me, or anyone else to tell you that Victoria Beckham was ‘taking the piss’ then perhaps a trip to London is on order. (‘Taking the piss’ is a British phrase which means ‘making fun of yourself or someone else’).
david and victoria beckham in W magazine
The only complaint I have about the show is the fact that Victoria gave Mensa reject blogger Perez you-know-who some airtime. I love that she called him out on his nasty write-up of her, but could have done without seeing his ugly mug on an otherwise pretty show. My favorite occurrence on the show was when Vic’s personal assistant informed her that she was chosen to throw out the first pitch at a Dodgers game. Victoria response: “What if I make them lose?” Her assistant: “I don’t think your pitch is going to count.” Victoria Beckham, admitting that she doesn’t know much about baseball, said, “They wear tight trousers. One member of the team actually wears some weird mask, which looks like what we saw in the sex shop.” And with all this said, I redact any previous posts that may have bashed the Beckham’s. Especially after the W photos spread, and David Beckham’s surprisingly eloquent, humble and endearing welcome speech. (For more W photo spread photos, see July 12th’s post).
